Cameron's Great Britain !

The Red Cross will this winter start collecting and distributing food aid to the needy in Britain for the first time since the Second World War, as welfare cuts and the economic downturn send soaring numbers of people to soup kitchens and food banks across Europe.

In what could be the start of an increased role in Britain for the Geneva-based charity best known for its work in disaster zones, its volunteers will be mobilised to go into supermarkets across the country at the end of November and ask shoppers to donate dry goods. The British Red Cross will then help the charity FareShare distribute the packets and tins to food banks nationwide.

Britain is just one of many countries where families are struggling to put food on the table. In a report released today into the devastating humanitarian impact of Europe’s financial  crisis, the Red Cross recorded a 75 per cent increase in the number of people relying on their food aid over the last three years. At least 43 million people across the Continent are not getting enough to eat each day and 120 million are at risk of poverty.

This is just the start, far worse is to come. I hope I am wrong.

A comment from the article forum.

"Never in my 54 years have I seen such a despicable bunch of hypocrites running this country. The Thatcher and Blair governments were bad enough. But these swine's are the utter pits. And they have no common decency or empathy whatsoever with the people that their arrogance and policies are crushing.

They have us the ordinary people in a spiral of a race to the bottom. While they and their greedy mates are in a race to the top and more and more cash and influence all the time. It does not even trouble them that they are stealing from some of this countries most vulnerable.

They were rightly condemned by the UN for their bedroom tax. And now it seems yet another highly regarded international organisation the Red Cross fears and with good reason that there is a serious risk British people will go hungry this winter. And their so called politicians will stand idly by while this crisis unfolds.

And where did these Tories get the authority to persecute and discriminate. Well it certainly was not from the 2010 General Election. Tactical Voting stopped Cameron from forming a minority government. No he could only govern with the help of the self serving likes of Clegg, Alexander and Cable.

Well with polls constantly averaging 10% for the Lib/Dems lets hope they are sufficiently punished along with their arrogant Tory bed fellows.

And as for Miliband if he really does want to shine there is plenty of high explosive policies created by the Coalition to be able to give them a thoroughly deserved political kicking"
